Ironic, gallons per mile is actually a more useful measure for high fuel efficiency vehicles because it directly represents fuel consumption. Differences in MPG are more misleading to intuition as MPG increases.

For example, upgrading from an 18mpg car to a 28mpg car (Option A) saves more fuel than upgrading from a 34mpg car to a 50mpg car (Option B). It is easy to be misled that Option B would result in more savings because it is an upgrade of 16mpg rather than only 10mpg in Option A.

GPM does not have this problem and the differences can be compared directly, Option A in GPM is 5.5gpm -> 3.5gpm, for a difference of 2gpm while Option B is 2.9gpm -> 2gpm for a difference of only 0.9gpm, making it easy to see that the Option A is a greater impact to fuel economy than Option B.

I recently bought a wearable device from Amazon with programmable esp32 s3 board. What I got was basically buying a cybertruck and getting this.

My expectation was to get a product with esp32 s3 from 2020, not the 2016 version.

Just like the car in the picture gets you from A to B, I can work with that chip. It’s just a pain to strip and modify stuff designed for the S3 to get at least partially working on the chip I got. Luckily I don’t need every “bell and whistle”.

Tesla being terrible not withstanding, electric vehicles require less maintenance than ICE vehicles, I believe.

That being said, fuck cars anyway, all my homies love walkable neighbourhoods with public and active transport

they’d still be better with less electronics, particularly if we reduce the electronics to the point where they are just the original prototype car with a better battery

All my homies also want fewer electronics in cars (other than those required to make the car go) ergo, you are one of my homies ;)
