According to new reporting from the New York Times, a Houthi surface-to-air (SAM) missile barely missed an American F-35 fifth-generation fighter, the crown jewel of the U.S. fighter inventory. The F-35, participating in Operation Rough Rider against the Houthis, was forced to take evasive action to avoid the missile.
The incident raises questions about the survivability of one of America’s most advanced fighters, and raises concerns over how effective the relatively unsophisticated Houthi air defense system has been at hampering U.S. action.
Operation Rough Rider
probably not a hot take, but i think if they managed to get their hands on whatever it is china’s got, they could probably dump a bunch of amerikkkan fighter jets into the ocean
do you even need to shoot down an f-35?
or can you just wait until the dumbass yankees fail to maintain the piece of shit effectively and it falls out of the sky on it’s own volition? To be fair it is needed, they seems to produce it in rate faster they are coming down, at least if we count accidents and friendly fire.
It’s important for style points.
Ansarallah only has to be lucky once, the USA has to be lucky every time
God can you imagine if they hit it? the 🦀 posting would’ve crashed the site. slammer would have another banger surely.
Whew! I almost found out why we don’t have healthcare!
Damn, would have been cooler to top the US losing two F-16’s
2.94% cooler, in fact
F/A-18s* which are even more expensive and less numerous than the F-16
and its been 3 of them
Does the f35 count as pork barrel spending? If it does would being blown to smithereens in one by a Houthi SAM count as being hoisted by your own petard?
is this anything?
Raytheon Greyjoy
It is
I mean I’m pretty sure there is no question everyone knows it’s a piece of shit
