First thing first: fuck reckless and dangerous driving.

But yikes, once the authorities take one step in, they will never take a step back.

Also it’s Singapore, a city that make it extremely expensive to own a car, essentially lock the option out for anyone who can’t pay sgd100k± for the certificate. And car is also extremely expensive to buy.

But despite that, one doesn’t need to own a car to travel around Singapore, it’s a very walkable city despite the weather.

Singapore is influenced by China and we all know how bad the Chinese police are.

More like influenced by British police, since it’s an ex colony.

Not as much these days. It seems like a increasing number of Singaporeans are favoring China.

You will get no argument from me. However, they still have a engine that you can work on. Electric cars aren’t know for there reparability or longevity. Gas cars still have some issues but they are much more “physical” if that males sense. You can put gas in your car but you need to charge your electric with a charging station.

I think there is a good reason that we moved to gas. It also annoys me that old drivable cars are getting crushed.

Yea electric vehicles are so unreliable that dealerships are all salivating over having captive customers in their service plans.

Clearly you haven’t worked on new Dodge vehicles as they have completely locked their engine diagnostic behind a massive paywall that Dodge can revoke if they feel like to leaving you unable to work on that engine. VW, Merc, Volvo, BMW have all been calling home for the past 10-15 years now as a mandatory way to re-enable ice engines. Ford and Chevy are also looking to (if they haven’t already) locking their internal CPU behind a paywall as well.

TL;DR - All new cars (ev or ice) are getting “features” that lock you out of “working on the engine”

I’m going to laugh if all this connectedness is the thing that makes people start supporting public transit and biking again lmao.

“Well who wants to fucking drive anymore if you actually get in trouble for breaking the law?!”

The good news is that the Singapore, Korean and Chinese police are way more invasive and aggressive than police in the US. The bad news is that US law enforcement often copies them.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think cars and heavy vehicles should report overspeeding and other reckless behaviour to the traffic police.

Well they do are all bad. I’m not sure what anyone expects, it’s like living with a murderer. They’ll never respect you and every breath of oxygen they take is an insult to your life.
