First shown on 23 Feb 2023 in local theatres, this sci-fi drama grossed RM3.5 million (ranked 4th among 2023 Wajib Tayang films so far) according to Finas.

Personally, it was my first theatre experience in nearly a year. I was convinced this film was worth buying a ticket for by the chatter on Reddit. As it turned out, they were not wrong. As per convention, spoilers in the comments whether they are marked or not, so beware.

+1 from another person who also didn’t regret going to the cinema for this. I was bracing myself for an Eternal Sunshine cover, but the pivot in the last third was very very interesting.

The final twist was nice, but didn’t quite blow me away as it was a bit like San Junipero of Black Mirror. There are some touching scenes, like between protag and his father, before the “time loops” got tiring.

The time loops thing was just about the time when I was checking my watch also, lol. But I’m better disposed towards the twist I think, I tend not to be bothered if a story choice/twist is inventive objectively as long as it works structurally - in this case it worked for me because it explained all the looney tunes tech and gear. Sure there’s the rl budget reason but there’s an in-story meta reason that amused me. 😂 Also that the twist depended on the siblings’ relationship as well and not just the romantic one, made it interesting.
