The Onion has lost all credibility since a couple of weeks.

EDIT: Geez you people don’t like jokes… I’m saying this because reality got so stupid lately that even The Onion can’t go far enough. And it’s the very nature of satire not to be credible. That’s what the joke was all about, it’s… The Onion lol. Also fuck you all if you’re trigerred by this.

          I call it humor.

Congrats, you’ve just experienced your first time “bombing” it’s something every aspiring comedian experiences. Write better jokes.

I’m just jocking lol. There’s many reason to be mad right now, a bad joke (there I’m admitting it) isn’t a good one.

My dude… You told a bad joke, you got downvoted for it, and started whining about how nobody understood your joke. Nobody seems mad except you.

I can’t speak for others, but I have autism and interpret things literally unless there are obvious signs of a joke. I’m one of the people that benefit from textual tone indicators.

Naaah, the joke is actually really good. The fact that you and a bunch of other can’t detect sarcasm without it being explicitly labeled is not my problem in the end, but I have an idea of the link between all of you. My only mistake was trying to explain it to idiots. And yeah people triggered by this are losers : “tHe OnIOn nEws dOesN’t hAve to be cRedible”, duh.

Also what the fuck are you doing here? Did I expose you previously for being a pos and you’re still mad about it?? That would make you the ultimate loser in this thread lol.

Nah, you’re just a bad comedian, and like all bad comedians, get super butthurt when they get told their joke sucked. Would have been moderately funny if you’d actually used the correct satirical publication.

My only mistake was trying to explain it to idiots.

No, your mistake was the bad joke, not being able to take criticism, and raging at people who talk about your lame joke. But feel free to respond for the last word, I won’t read it.

Feel free to assume I’ve interacted with you before, I’m sure that helps lol.

Just wanted to say that I understood your joke immediately and it gave me a good laugh. Irony in text is tricky. These are triggering times so I can see how people got confused…

I still think it makes no sense to write political non-sports slogans on a football pitch. (Not that I support racism)

Edit: Ok I’m clearly missing some US-specific sports context here.

Quite frankly it’s flat out scary that you think that saying ‘racism is bad’ is politics.

Fundamental human rights, and a basic respect for human beings regardless of what race they were born as, is not politics. People who want to make it politics should have the ever living fuck smacked out of them at minimum.

‘political’ was probably a bad choice of word on my part because I agree that whether racism is bad needn’t be up for debate. The point I was trying to make was more that this proclamation has nothing to do with football. They could plaster a hundred other agreeable slogans like ‘end fossil fuels’, ‘tax the rich’ etc. across the pitch but I don’t think it’s something the football goer would appreciate.

Put the shovel down, please. Racial justice and sports have an extremely long history. You are either uneducated on the subject or trolling extremely hard. Racism in sports is an ongoing issue both domestically and worldwide, pretending they aren’t related is insane.

No, because end fossil fuels and tax the rich are not universal, inarguable, basic human rights.

And if the football goer doesn’t appreciate the words ‘end racism’ or has a problem with it, they should have the ever living fuck smacked out of them.

          You’re really over complicating this.

Exactly, that’s why I don’t see the point of such a sign being displayed at a football pitch where people go to watch football (and not to think about racism) – because it should be obvious that racism is bad wherever.

That still doesn’t drive to change the fact that you tried to use the Republican talking points of claiming racism as a political issue.

You witness a huge political display at the start of every game. The NFL was paid by the department of defense for the athletes to be present on the field for the anthem.
