Somebody can subscribe to blocklists without ever actually talking to the accounts. In other words - if I have a hammer and sickle Unicode character in my bio and those turds have put me in their list - I’m blocked by all the subscribers.
I read somewhere that one of the developers of Bluesky was basically a Chinese gusano or something like that so if that’s true it wouldn’t surprise me if there’s some anti communism personally baked in (other than the, yknow, ambient amount)
