They should Unionize. Linus keeps talking about how he thinks he should run a company that doesn’t need a union; sounds like he hasn’t met that goal for a long long time.

I have no idea how unions work, but if that union has the same bad apples included wouldn’t it face the same rot, if not more?

union leadership have a different mandate- to advocate for workers and ensure issues like this get dealt with. if the fail to do that, the union will collapse. like I won’t pretend unions are perfect but they’re better than this.

There usually isn’t any money to be made by being a union leader, so there’s no incentive for pieces of shit of this ilk to vie for such a position.

Biggest thing is that if it proper democratized voting then it should be able to address at least some of the rot if the work environment impacts so many people

It might have the same issues as far as misogyny and stuff goes, but a union should be able to remedy the issues with rushing content. Unions usually are just made up of the workers but the bigger ones have independent management that can step in to manage other issues too.

Canada does have decent worker protection laws, and this is all stuff that would likely be taken seriously. But you have to know you have those protections, and being gaslit into thinking you’re in the wrong certainly doesn’t help.
