Harris won more votes than Obama. Didn’t save her or the rest of the country.

Also, and this cannot fail to bare mentioning, Harris and Biden both campaigned on a policy of mass deportation. Dems are still bragging that they deported more people than Trump. Mass deportation is a bipartisan policy.

I have never seen a dem advertisement based on deportation.

To say “both sides” campaigned on a policy of mass deportation is a straight up lie. Mass deportation isn’t bi-partisan as you say… with zero proof no links and nothing to back up your bs… you offer no proof and are therefor a liar.

Merely deporting someone isn’t so terrible an act. Hell Cheech and Chong had a joke about calling immigration on themselves whenever there was a wedding back in Mexico cause it got them a free ride and sandwich.

          This shit is different.

Operating on “vibes” is you saying you don’t care.

“In terms of vibes” equals “however I feel”… so if you don’t feel like being an adult… then cool no vibes or mojo should make you feel icky…

You missed the point. The point is Democrats and Republicans have both been massively against immigration and been pro-deportation. You are confusing vibes for real policy. Republicans and Democrats are both pro-mass deportation. Republicans are just a lot more performatively cruel about it. These are the vibes I’m referring to. People like you confuse vibes for actual policy and convince yourselves that Republicans have massively changed the immigration situation relative to Biden.

More manpower makes for more arrests, more rapid processing of migrants, and more physical removals abroad.

Particularly when agents are given quotas to hit that exceed the number of migrants available for capture. We’ve seen how this played out under Greg Abbott in Texas during Operation Lone Star, a state that received $12B in federal reimbursements for the gruesome work done in 2022.

In what world is advocating for border security akin to rendering folks by masked individuals and trafficking them to foreign countries without due process…?

What democrat has ever advocated for ice to do what they’re currently doing?

Pointing to how democrats advocating that strengthening our border doesn’t require kidnapping…

Well you don’t really have a point do you?

They weren’t advocating for security. They were advocating for more cops, more arrests, and more deportations.

Nothing either party has done has made the border more “secure”. The fact that you bought into this false narrative illustrates the damage the liberals have done. They’ve sold you the same bill of goods as the Republicans, in slightly different wrapping.

It’s like saying the Republicans are right that you should be scared of immigrants and then being surprised when people vote out of fear for the person who will hurt those immigrants more. They didn’t campaign on mass deportation as one has claimed, but they did justify people’s fears of immigrants.

              They don’t campaign on that?

“They’re eating the dogs and your cats…”

“There is a mass horde attacking our border…”

Republicans did. They did more or less make an enemy of immigrants, shape them into an “other” and now we’re starting to see citizens getting treated like immigrants and citizenship being eroded all while you say “well maybe dems don’t literally campaign on X…”

Do you remember the time she mentioned an immigrant horde coming to eat your dogs and cats?

Remember when as VP she directed ICE to render folks unconstitutionally and under masks?

You’re setting up a clearly misleading and manipulative standard so you can play some horseshit “gotcha” based on a technicality. Obviously the VP doesn’t control immigration, but who the fuck cares and why would you make that your standard? Kamala was running for president, and she promised to run her administration exactly like Biden’s. We have to judge Kamala by Biden’s performance, as she promised to continue his policies.

But here you are trying to defend her on a technicality, saying, “nu huh, acktually, she wasn’t in charge of immigration, she was only the VP!”

Manipulative petty bullshit. It’s transparently bad faith.

      Bullshit and just stopped.

You could argue they campaigned on being tough on immigration, but deportation instead of path to citizenship where possible is the difference.

That is part of the outrage: Biden granted asylum, biden laid out a framework to get to citizenship, and trumps taking that away, arresting at court hearings of people who had been given a chance.

I am not a fan of biden, but what you are saying is bullshit and a major distraction.

Sorry, but I have to call you out on this. This “fuck right off” attitude is exactly why Democrats lose elections. You know how people call Democrats smug and out of touch? It’s because of this right here.

People hate Democrats when they’re smug assholes. Democrats do generally have better policy positions than Republicans. But many Democrats take this way too far, adopting a sports team attitude of their side being always right.

OP rightfully pointed out that Democrats are just as onboard with mass deportation as Republicans. Trump is currently using the mass ICE infrastructure that Biden helped build up to new heights. On immigration, both parties are extremely right wing. This is an absolute, indisputably true fact. But you then have the arrogance to tell someone pointing this out to “fuck right off.”

This is why democrats lose elections. This is the smugness people hate. Many liberals view politics as a sports team and refuse to accept the failures of their own team. And on immigration, Democrats are only a tiny iota better than Republicans.

Quit being such a smug asshole. It only hurts your cause. (Assuming you’re actually a Democrat and not just a Republican trying to make liberals look bad.)
