It’s significantly different. The people in my own instance and the instances that it federates with all see it. It’s directly attached and connected with my post/comment. Anyone who sees my post/comment sees their lies, too.
With defederated instances, it’s like x users talking shit about threads users.
The main issue is that I don’t want them interacting with me. I have no problems not interacting with them until they start shit.
Why do you care? Or, if you care enough, why not bear the burden?

You were complaining about vote manipulation, Unruffled commented saying they had banned the alts used for vote manipulation.
“complaining” is such a shitty way to describe warning and bringing attention to what is not only explicitly against the ToS of lemmy.world, but widely regarded as a shitty thing to do. Are you intentionally describing it in this way to frame me in a shitty way? I suspect so. Not to mention I was also mentioning their harassment of other users, and then myself when I called out their harassment.
Additionally, Unruffled didn’t simply comment “saying they had banned the alts used for vote manipulation”, they framed it as it was expected that I would or should have known that and intentionally left that information out. I don’t even understand why that information matters to lemmy.world to take action. Why did they event need to make that comment at all and why did they need to phrase that so antagonisticly?

Again, how does that have anything to do with the main post or the and why is any of that excusable? Some random asshole came in with their own nonsense that had nothing to do with the main post, which is what I even said in the comment that Unruffled replied to where they just continued on those entirely off-topic antagonistic accusations.
I won’t even bother diving into that thread that you are all using as justification to harass and antagonize me here and around Lemmy, or that it shows there are clearly people who agree with me there. Because, I’ll say this again, it has nothing to do with the report and warning of a user that has been banned for the behavior I point out there.
