Yes, ignoring trolls is how you get rid of them, that is exactly how it works. You feed a wild bear, he will come back for more than the last time. Trolls are exactly the same way.

Well, you’re free to do you. However, in my experience, ignoring trolls rarely has an effect.
Ignoring a troll works because if you do not feed them, they will go on to find others that will.
I understand the theory, it’s just not my experience that it makes any difference in practice.
It’s worked for me, but YMMV. The only cases it hasn’t worked for me are ones who PM you.
