    They’re just there to get you off the ledge and back into the stuff that got put you on the ledge.

    Unless you’re loaded with unlimited billable hours, then honey, lets get you some catharsis! What does fulfillment look like to you?

      this reads like a criticism of society worded as a criticism of individuals

          because “therapists will only provide therapy for as long as they receive money for it” is a weird take to thrust upon people who still need money to eat food to survive

              right, and the fact that said therapists need money to survive is not a critique of those individuals, but of society

                  just like the cop that thinks he’s doing good but doesn’t tell on his coworkers when they do something horrible

                  not telling on your coworkers because they did do something is very different from not telling on your coworkers because they didn’t do something

                  everything else in your experience unfortunately seems to be a failing of society rather than a failing of individuals

            And many therapist will lower their rate and otherwise find ways to support clients as much as possible

              i think it’s great that some therapists are willing to go to those lengths to support those people that need it

              but expecting this from them is unfortunately unreasonable
