Rumor has it his faction intended to field a different candidate for Penang Chief Minister if they won the state election, perhaps it was fueled by the opposition making public statement not long ago. Also, the former deputy chief minister P. Ramasamy was also dropped from the name list in coming state election. He has been vocal even towards his own party and maybe because of that, it has since become a liability for his gone too far from the party direction attitude.

And Chow wants a second term, and he promised this will be his last election. LGE also defending his position in Air Putih Constituency in this state election. I can see certain faction will think the possibilty of LGE comes back as Chief, although I don’t think he will.

Chow for second term is reasonable, but the 2028 state election, maybe Gobind Singh Deo, but he has tasted the power in federal, it will be a downgrade, maybe one of his brothers.
