  • “Moderate to dense smoke haze was observed to emanate from clusters of hotspots detected in central and southern parts of Sumatra.”

“While some isolated showers are forecast for Sumatra in the coming days, dry weather is expected to persist in parts of central and southern Sumatra, with the prevailing winds likely to continue blowing from the southeast or southwest.

“Under these conditions, the hotspot and smoke haze situation there could worsen, with an increased risk of transboundary smoke haze occurrence,” the alert read.

“This was corroborated by Datuk Wan Abdul Latiff Wan Jaffar, the director-general of Malaysia’s Department of Environment, who said that forest fires in Indonesia had caused transboundary haze to affect East Malaysia.”

“Satellite imagery from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration detected 52 hotspots in Sumatra, 264 hotspots in Kalimantan, and no hotspots detected within (Malaysia),” he was quoted sa saying by Free Malaysia Today.

Indon has spoken: 52 hotspots in Sumatra, 264 hotspots in Kalimantan.

  • Ignore the obvious siew yok, the herbal tea is also steep, that’s the profit margin that funded the stall operators. And since it includes Service Tax, presumably their total taxable services exceeded RM1.5mil for a calendar year.

Yet, the furniture in the stall (or restaurant) are pathetic, dirty and all plastic, look at the plates, table, chairs…

The food stall / restaurant owner is a half Nigerian half Zimbabwean origin running a successful business here, making a great life here than his previous career in remote call center pretending to be Leonardo DiCaprio, or Justin Tremblay.

  • It is only the beginning, I think news have reported that more than a dozen of areas in south Kalimantan and south Sumatra having been identified as hotspots responsible for the smog, and will continue to ravage the provinces.

And if combines with low rainfalls, it is not looking good.

  • State government, the current chief is Saarani Mohamad.

And if you read the history of the company that wins this case, it has been on bad financial position for a long time and has changed ownership multiple times [1].

The company’s application was dismissed in October last year by judicial commissioner Bhupindar Singh. He said the monastery had demonstrated that they were not squatters and had a strong arguable defence to the eviction.

He also said there were triable issues as to whether they had occupied the land with the acquiescence of the company and state authorities.

    Then, suddenly…

The Court of Appeal overturned his judgment.

A three-member bench of the Court of Appeal said the monastery had failed to raise any triable issue to prevent the grant of order.

The bench, comprising Justices Azizah Nawawi, See Mee Chun and Zaini Mazlan, later also rejected an application by the monastery for a stay of execution pending an appeal to the Federal Court.

However, the monastery’s management contested the application, contending that the company could only occupy a small portion of the land as the monastery’s monks have resided and occupied the area for more than 100 years.

They also asked for the application to be dismissed as the company had suppressed material evidence in their application by not disclosing to the court the fact that the land was occupied by the monastery.

  • When it comes to agriculture in Malaysia, one cannot separate it from FELDA. Now, I’m lazy to dig the history of budget on just how much the government pump tax payers money into it since its’ establishment decades ago. Then, comes the promises that the government will forgo all the debt incurred by farmers who are members of the club FELDA. I don’t know the figures, but one can assume it is astronomical.

Then, another promise that RM1 Billion will be channeled to FELDA annually for the next 10 years, total RM10 Billion.

And after all the ‘milking’, this is the state of local produces, heavy dependent on imports, and now lack of clean water, what the actual fucking fuck.

It sounds like a classic ponzi scheme for never ending funding that will never yield any results, but a black hole of cronyism.

  • It is still far humane that the western colonialism through killings. Of course, I am certainly not supporting their claims, but when put things into perspective, the west, especially the U.S and U.K are total hypocrite. The one thing that they done well is the marketing and propaganda, splendid job that made people forgot they kill people to colonize.

Read history books, downvotees. Lookup how many nuclear warheads the U.S installed in puppet governments that pointing to another nation they deemed a rival.

The western democracy is great, but the greatest icon of democracy depicted by U.S is not the only way to govern a nation. There should always an alternative, a rivalry that challenges the bigotry.

  • Hmmm, some grey areas…, was it during the Sabri’s administration or the new Anwar’s administration.

Reporting inflammatory and racially seditious acts to authority are great job, I can’t see what when wrong that the police arrested him instead ?

This is weird, more on the story ?

Or remind us the tale of Nazri’s son Nedim, he who murdered someone and get away freely and act like a douchebag collector and sniffing the odour like a weird yet total savages ?
