Shit’s gonna get real weird. Most people don’t seem to understand ip at all so i figure a lot of people will think that the mickey mouse character is fair game and not the specific steamboat willie rat.
I’ve seen a ton of, uh, reappropriations already, but they at least are all using the willie design
It’s odd because Disney icon is mickey mouse head and mickey’s head shape didn’t really change much.
I was gonna post about this shit either here or on lemmygrad’s c/games, so I’m glad someone already did, and holy fuck this game is just a nazi dog whistle, and every gaming journalist outlet is reporting on it without mentioning any of this shit.
Searching around, this is all I found: it’s about “exterminating rats with gas”, has 88 in the title, the title is 14 keystrokes long, the word Infestation have a Scrabble score of 14 (this one might be a huge reach, but it would make the title be a code for 14 88), there’s a sign in the trailer that shows the letters “TG-44 SST”, there is a German assault rifle the nazis used in WW2 called STG-44 which is only a single letter of difference, the team claims to be in the industry making horror games since 2010, specifically 14 years of experience, while also not having launched any other games.
I doubt it’s gonna make a difference but I reported this nazi propaganda crap on Steam. What a fucking way to start 2024 eh.
Edit: also saw some screenshots on twitter of some proud neonazis on their discord server.
Edit 2: the devs got caught and are now backtracking, I don’t buy their excuses, specially when they didn’t straight up denounce the nazis on their discord, just said it is against the hate speech rule.

Yeah, that much I know, I even got 2 nazis being racist against me and telling to enjoy being “headless” on the steam forums of this nazi shit. You can find the screenshots in my other comment on this post. I was more asking about the specific post on facebook that was mentioned.
