Why? Shouldn’t they be insured for this stuff?
They are, but it costs very little for them to file these motions, so of course they’re going to do it. This isn’t really newsworthy.
The optimist in me hopes this gets tossed out alongside hysterical laughter. The realist in me thinks the courts will cut it in half for them and give stern words, with no admission of guilt or liability for mismanagement. And I"m sure this paltry offering won’t even put a dent in just the cleanup, let alone cost to replace the bridge.
I guess this all depends on if the judge is a conservative or if they’re a normal human.
