I think this is a technique for not dying of smoke inhalation during a fire. Sure hope someone’s coming to save your ass cuz you’re still in a burning building.

I love this scene, because zero people during production remembered what happens when you out more water into the toiletbowl.
In universe I want to guess they added pressure to the back side of the system to balance out the water vs air pressure since it’s part of the training system. That said, it was probably just movie magic bs.
