Summary

Fox News reporter Chad Pergram challenged Speaker Mike Johnson for blaming Democrats for a potential government shutdown over funding bill opposition.

After Johnson claimed Democrats would be “responsible for every troop who misses a paycheck” if they reject his “clean CR,” Pergram pointed out this implies Republicans lack sufficient votes.

Johnson insisted “we’ll have the votes” despite reports that House Republicans plan to vote against the bill, claiming Democrats should “do the responsible thing.”

Fox learned during his first term that if they push too hard their viewers just go to Newsmax instead.

That’s what’s so scary about this beast Murdoch and co have created. They thought they could pump out fake news for decades and people would believe whatever they wanted, allowing them to control the narrative.

It worked for a while, but then others realized how gullible the Fox News crowd was - and saw they could go even further into the crazy. Fox News now is basically in a spot where they have no choice but to push crazier shit than they actually want to. If they say the 2020 election wasn’t stolen, their viewers jump ship to someone who will tell them that it was.

Check this shit out, Fox posted this on fb when Bill Burr said that stuff about how we should treat “differently affluent” people (that’s my new euphemism, like it?)

I thought it seemed weirdly anti-oligarchy for them and the comments were almost entirely pro-Burr. Interesting times we live in for sure

I’m so proud of us. We’re all grown up and fascist. Brings a single tear to my eye, ya know, bcz I’m not some woke bleeding heart liberal.

I get confused by the GOP message these days. It sounds like they are saying…

    A) Trump is the smartest man to ever live and genius. Smartest man ever to be President by far.

    B) the Dems are tricking us into not doing well and we can’t figure out how to out smart them.

    Can both be true?

“Every troop missing a paycheck”? Big coming from the side stealing money from starving people.

As if the Republicans haven’t caused many government workers to miss many paychecks. Even WITHOUT their current crimes against humanity they’d still have no ground to stand on with this argument.

It’s basically a serial killer being shocked that someone killed one person.

“We refused to negotiate with them and filled the CR with Republican amendments, but if Democrats and 2 Republicans don’t vote for it then the shutdown is the Democrats fault!”

If a human being can be that dishonest and still convince himself he’s a good person, maybe our species never had much of a chance.

but if Democrats and 2 Republicans. Republicans have the majority. This has absolutely nothing to do with Democrats.

We’re not there, when he looks in the mirror. Evil politics takes a toll on all. From his perspective, "God watches us all’.

Also, have faith, fellow mammal. We’re a work in progress, generationally.

They always blame the dems no matter what because Fox repeats it and their base believes it. Fox pointing out that the republicans have the majority and still can’t govern could help a lot of the brainwashed wake up a bit. I won’t hold my breath but this is better than Fox also blaming the democrats for this.

I’ll be shocked to hell if they can’t get some Democrats to vote for this. The party is full of little worms willing to capitulate to fascism.

Or it’ll pass with a large majority of dems voting for it while gop only loses the tea party ones who vote against everything

The only reason that Fox News is pushing back against the Republicans is because their stocks are going down.

Who would have thought that greed after all can be used for good at least once?

This isn’t even turnabout. The Democrats did not have enough seats to pass it themselves and attempted to negotiate. The Republicans have tried nothing, abused the government, and are demanding the Democrats save them from themselves.

To the Democrats, the Republicans have the petard lit, don’t let them hoist you instead of themselves.
