I’m sorry I just can’t stop fixating on the absurdity and disrespect of hashtagging somebodies obituary. “Crushed her with a #bulldozer” Get #bulldozer trending! /s

When this incident happened long ago, I was just as ambivalent as I was ignorant about Israel. Now that I’ve learned more about Israel and Zionism I look at her death as a waste. She almost certainly knew more then I know about the history of Israeli oppression, their tactics, and their ultimate goal and lack of morality. So knowing what I know, if I’m going to die fighting Israel it won’t be by non-violent (in)action.
    Martyrdom will never stop evil.

@PowerCrazy @faab64 As I said with Aaron Bushnell, anyone that dedicated is worth INFINITELY MORE alive, to their cause.

Ps. For the record, you DO NOT CHOOSE to be a martyr. Martyrdom happens.

It is sad to see such comment, comparing a young woman who was MURDERED and the first thing you come up with is the person who self-sacrificed to draw attention.

        Rachel didn’t commit suicide.
        Rachel didn’t chose death.
        Rachel didn’t bear arms.

She just stood in front of a freaking bulldozer to prevent it from illegally demolish a Palestinian doctor during the illegal occupation of Gaza in Rafah.

And for that she was brutally CRUSHED to death.

“She was clearly an agent of the enemy” - USA govt, probably.

Given how they treat domestic protesters and activists, it’s no surprise, unfortunately.

They actually pretended to care, set up an investigation and even went to court, but the soldier driving the Caterpillar bulldozer was freed from any wrong doing and put the blame on her for putting herself in front of the bulldozer “doing it’s job”.

Her parents setup the Rachel Corrie foundation that is very active and supporting Palestinian struggle for independent and justice.

Her martyrdom was when I realized Israel must be opposed, I think. I didn’t consciously understand it (I wasn’t even a teenager yet) and didn’t have any theoretical basis for my opposition, but it as after her death I started questioning the Zionist narrative.

They tried to bury her. They didn’t realize she was a seed.

I never forget the moment I saw the video of her murder.

It was before Israel forced all web sites to remove the video.

I think I still have it on one of my backup tapes

It was the election right before that, when both sides voted in warhawks, that I threw my hands up and decided I could give a fuck if we just nuke the whole region at that point. 🫤

They conscript them at a young age. It’s easy to get a child to follow orders, especially when you drown then in propoganda for most of their lives.

Fortunatelly, ‘…the government of the United States is unsatisfied with the IDF’s closure of its official investigation into Corrie’s death.’

      “US is unsatisfied”

But they’re going to continue funding them to the tune of billions a year. Arming them in the middle of a genocide, ensuring the flows of weapons continue. Continue supplying them with intelligence. Continue defending them at the UN security council with vetos, continue crushing campus protestors and painting them as anti-semites. Continue to maximally defend and protect the zionist project.

I’m sure the US is also “unsatisfied” with the IDF’s actions in attacking the USS Liberty, a US flagged military ship which zionist warplanes repeatedly strafed and intentionally attacked decades ago in what is under international law an act of war. And yet nothing has or will change because these are just meaningless words.

Yes, pardon my sarcasm. I feel like it’s the only way to criticize imperialist behaviour these days.
