This is pretty dumb. It’s another instance of how the spirit of the law is ignored to benefit companies.
Why use carpooling to reduce traffic, when you can contribute to the traffic by using taxis, instead?
Anybody who thinks Uber is ‘carpooling’ is 20 years out of touch.
How do they even catch this? Could be just dropping friends.
Based on the article, it seems to be targetted at apps. But I wont be surprised if enterprising policemen decide to check a bunch of cars with more than one person to get a quick bribe.
