It’s literally in the title that they also received 7500$ bonus. Or is ignoring everything just to complain a cool thing to do still? (Also 2 weeks paid time off, but hey, I’m sure that’s normal for most jobs)

They’re saying they’d rather have had the money that went towards the purchases of switch 2s left in the form of cash, rather than spent for them.

It’s a relevant critique because with their latest releases, Nintendo’s doing the same ‘cost increase to the detriment of employees and customers’ dance as the other big gaming corpos.

A person can agree something is better than the horrible baseline, and still bring up a topic of discussion on something that isn’t great.

Also, re: 2 weeks paid time off; look outside of 'Murica once in a while. The global average of paid days off is ~25. So 2 weeks, while lovely for America, is below normal.

Not American. Also, assumed that was on top of the ones from the contract. Being forced to use 10 days of my vacation time when they want me to isn’t much of a bonus.

And yeah, I guess being given the option of cash vs switch would be cool, but when the bonus is 7.5k + 2 weeks off + more bonuses announced for later on, it feels a bit shit to complain about a free switch. Especially when you can just sell it to get the money.

I’m saying I would rather have the value of the switch as more cash tacked on to that bonus. even if I worked at a game studio it doesnt mean I want to have a console without its overpriced games.

but since I’m pissing off nintendo slave-fanboys anyway, I suppose if it was received close enough to the release date of the switch2 and if I was fast I could potentially scalp it for more than the original cash value
