How about just simply take action under some circumstances where it makes sense. Don’t let admins/mods/users get away with being toxic. Use logic and reasoning and put aside your own biases to look at a situation more objectively.

It’s significantly different. The people in my own instance and the instances that it federates with all see it. It’s directly attached and connected with my post/comment. Anyone who sees my post/comment sees their lies, too.
With defederated instances, it’s like x users talking shit about threads users.
