Maybe the timing isn’t right, but yeah that’s how they do roadwork and they have to. But if they pick a non-peak time for that it wouldn’t cause much of a standstill.
i mean, the roads aren’t going to maintain themselves right? small contractors can’t really do midnight work, requires a lot more manpower and resources.
they can put a slab of concrete on, super low maintenance but there’s gonna be another rant about road noise and terrible ride comfort i bet… @.@

Whose idea was it to do roadworks on a two-lane highway, blocking a lane that caused a few km of standstill traffic?

There’s always the weekend…
probably spending the weekend working on other projects. not realistic to expect every road to be fixed on the weekend.
