Hello guys, I haven’t been up to date with what’s happening with fediverse and just got to know that Meta has arrived here. Lemmy.world is not blocking it. So what should I do as an user to avoid Meta? Move to different big instance? Does monyet.cc block meta?
Hmm, I wonder how Threads will work with Reddit-style fediverse platforms (I mean I can definitely post to Lemmy with Mastodon, but wonder if we’ll see that much stuff from Threads on Lemmy since the platforms aren’t that similar)
There’s no decision yet to block or allow meta here, or at least there’s no conversation about it. Imo i don’t think Thread would affect lemmy much, as their format is significantly different than us, so it wouldn’t federate as well either. Though i also don’t think there’s anything to lose nor gain for blocking/not blocking, so i guess it’s just wait and see approach for now.
