Lol i was reading up on it – there’s some legal leeway imo but otoh one of my fedi mutuals (a futual??) mmg long time low-key sideeye the whole rebranding for management history issues (and tbh they’re the only reason I even am this up to speed with the various interplays of the various players)!
It’ll be interesting to see what happens next. The biggest booster is a Canadian but he’s not actually a dev for this. The actual dev is barely 20 yo tak silap (si kainoa tu). Most of the crew aren’t corporate or corporate-trained, so lagilah kalau terkena anything I also dk (eta: like related to when FB approached some of them to berdiskusi pre-Threads launch; most of these guys… tak pernah kena tipu, is all I’ll say about it). Hopefully the power and privilege of being European is gonna help somehow.
