Colossal Biosciences claims three pups born recently are dire wolves, but they are actually grey wolves with genetic edits intended to make them resemble the lost species

"Shapiro says they are being raised on a 800-hectare reserve where they are being observed and cared for. “They can’t get a splinter without us knowing,”

I’ve seen that movie. But seriously, this company is clearly bullshit. It’s like 2025 Theranos.

Theranos never worked, these are actually genetically modified wolves.

Maybe not exactly as advertised, but better than never worked at any point.

Figured everyone read between the lines here? No, the dire wolf isn’t back, but it’s closer, and they seem to have made some serious science.

    Anyone?

The de-extint wolf situation is dire.
